About the Project

Port Arthur Pipeline, LLC, is proposing to develop a natural gas pipeline in connection with the proposed development of the the Port Arthur LNG project.

Location : Jefferson and Orange Counties, Texas and Cameron Parish, Louisiana
Capacity : 2.0 Bcfd
Size : 34.2 miles, 42-inch diameter pipeline
Projected Commercial Operation : 2024

The 26.6-mile northern portion of the proposed Port Arthur Pipeline Texas Connector (PAPTC) project would extend from Vidor in Orange County, TX to the proposed liquefaction project, with the majority of the proposed pipeline co-located with existing energy infrastructure rights-of-way. The approximately seven-mile southern portion of the proposed Pipeline Project would originate in Cameron Parish, Louisiana on the east bank of Sabine Lake and terminate at the Port Arthur Liquefaction Project.

The proposed PAPTC project would interconnect the Port Arthur Liquefaction Project to various intra- and interstate pipelines, providing access to a number of major U.S. natural gas supply basins.

Proposed Project Schedule

Project development and Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities began in 2014. In March 2015, the project initiated pre-filing review with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

The project received authorization from FERC April 2019. Construction is expected to begin in the 2022, with commercial operations expected to begin in 2024.

Development of Port Arthur LNG and the Pipeline Project – Texas Connector is contingent upon completing the required commercial agreements, securing all necessary permits and approvals, obtaining financing and incentives, achieving other customary conditions, reaching a final investment decision and other factors associated with the investments.
